What works well
No purchasing service fee on mainstream platforms, so the product price you see is the product price you pay before domestic freight and optional extras.
Three free warehouse QC photos per item, with paid detailed photography and re-inspection available when a listing's stitching, hardware or print needs a closer look.
90 days of free storage lets you accumulate several orders and consolidate them into one international parcel.
Long operating history since 2012 with stable warehouse processes and bilingual customer support.
Broad payment menu, including low-fee Wise bank transfer and local wallets in Europe, Southeast Asia and Latin America, plus Bitcoin.
Wide shipping line menu covering express, economy postal, dedicated lines and sea freight to 200+ countries.
What to check
Optional services that alter the item — box removal, tag removal, ironing, power-on testing — usually void returns, so only request them once you are confident you are keeping the item.
International shipping is charged as a deposit against estimated weight, then reconciled after the parcel is weighed; the final figure can be higher or lower than the estimate.
Value-added services are billed individually and add up quickly; a detailed inspection, extra photos and reinforced packaging can noticeably raise the landed cost of a small haul.
Secondhand and unlisted platforms carry a flat or percentage purchasing fee, and special-request orders cost more, so check the order screen rather than assuming the fee is zero.
Bulky items such as boxed shoes, puffer jackets and structured bags are often billed on volumetric weight, which can exceed the scale weight.
Free storage runs 90 days; items held beyond the maximum storage window may be treated as abandoned.
About Superbuy
Superbuy began operating in 2012 and was among the first platforms to build a reverse cross-border shopping model, buying from Chinese marketplaces on behalf of overseas customers and forwarding the goods abroad. The workflow has two clear stages: a purchasing stage, in which Superbuy places your order on a domestic platform and receives the parcel into its warehouse, and a shipping stage, in which you consolidate stored items and pay international freight on the packed parcel. For specification-led shopping, the warehouse stage is the useful part. Every item that arrives can be photographed, measured and re-inspected before it goes into an international parcel, and paid extras such as detailed photos, product videos, model try-on photos and power-on tests for electronics let you confirm details that product pages often leave vague. Free storage of 90 days means you can place an order, check what arrived, then decide whether to add a second order before consolidating. The company reports service to more than 200 countries and regions, with transparent line pricing, bilingual support and multi-currency payment.
Is Superbuy legitimate?
Superbuy has operated continuously since 2012 and is one of the earliest reverse cross-border shopping platforms built for overseas buyers. Independent traffic trackers place it in the top tier of shopping agents, with millions of monthly visits, and its warehouse, inspection and forwarding processes are published openly. Our testing team placed orders and moved them through warehouse inspection and international shipping without account or payment issues. As with any agent, the money you send is a top-up balance rather than a direct card payment to the seller, so fund the balance in small increments until you are comfortable with the workflow.
Specification checks before you pay for freight
The warehouse stage is where Superbuy earns its place in a practical selection workflow. Three QC photos per item are free, with three more for Weidian purchases, and each additional check is itemised: detailed photography, product video, live model try-on photos, second inspection and a full detailed inspection are all priced per piece. For electronics, a power-on test is available for a small fee. Ask for the specific shot you need rather than a generic gallery — a close-up of a size label, a measurement of a chest width, or a photo of a sole pattern tells you more than another full-frontal image. Anything you discover here is far cheaper to fix than after the parcel has left China.
Costs, top-ups and where the money goes
Total cost splits into three parts: the product price with domestic freight, optional value-added services, and international shipping. The purchasing fee is zero on mainstream platforms, but it is not zero everywhere — secondhand orders are charged flat or percentage fees and special-request purchases carry a higher rate with published minimums and maximums. Payment channel costs are separate again: Wise bank transfer was quoted at -3.13% and credit cards or Apple Pay at +3.94% in our source data, while Alipay and WeChat top-ups were free but can take up to an hour to credit. Local wallets such as iDEAL, BLIK, PIX, PromptPay, GCash and Kakao Pay are supported with their own percentage fees. Fee schedules change; confirm the current numbers on the order and top-up screens.
Value-added services worth paying for
The service menu is granular and mostly optional. Useful for specification checks: detailed photos, product video, live model try-on, second inspection and detailed inspection. Useful for freight control: package removal, vacuum compression bags, stretch film, EPE foam filler, corner protectors, moisture-proof bags and wooden crate reinforcement for heavy or fragile hauls. Useful for electronics and shoes: power-on testing, ironing, wire trimming and foldable shoe boxes. Every one of these is billed per item or per parcel, so pick the two or three that address a real risk in your haul instead of selecting the whole list. Remember that altering an item — removing boxes, tags or testing electronics — generally ends its return eligibility.
Planning the international leg
International freight is quoted on chargeable weight, which is the higher of scale weight and volumetric weight on most lines. Dense, compact goods tend to track close to the scale; boxed shoes, puffers and multi-hoodie stacks often lose on volume. Choose packing preferences before you compare carriers, then compare two or three lines for cost and transit window, and check that any restricted goods in the parcel — batteries, liquids, powders — are accepted on the line you want. Treat the initial figure as a deposit: the parcel is reweighed after packing and the difference is settled under Superbuy's rules. Adding an item to an existing parcel does not guarantee the shipping charge stays the same.
How to use Superbuy
Shopping-agent guide
Use Superbuy as a two-stage pipeline: buy into the warehouse, verify the specifications, then ship. Find a product link on Taobao, Tmall, JD.com, 1688, Weidian or a secondhand platform, paste it into Superbuy and pay the item price plus Chinese domestic freight. When the parcel reaches the warehouse, the free QC photos and any paid inspection you ordered become your specification check: compare measurements, materials, colour, hardware and labels against the listing before you commit to international postage. Only after that check should you consolidate. Choose your packaging preferences first — remove shoe boxes, compress soft goods, add reinforcement — because those choices change both the volume and the quote. Then open the shipping calculator, compare two or three lines for cost and transit window, and submit the parcel. Expect a deposit based on estimated weight, with a final reconciliation after the carrier weighs the parcel. Keep the return rules in mind: once you authorise box removal or tag removal, the item is normally no longer returnable.
Step 1 — Find the listing and paste the link
Locate the exact item URL on a Chinese marketplace, then paste it into Superbuy to generate an order draft. Check that the variant you selected — size, colour, version — matches the specification you actually want, because that is what the buying team will order and what the warehouse will later photograph.
Step 2 — Pay the item and domestic freight
Standard purchasing from Taobao, Tmall, JD.com and 1688 carries no purchasing service fee, so the first payment is normally the product price plus shipping to the Superbuy warehouse. Secondhand platforms and unlisted sources carry a flat or percentage fee, which is shown before you confirm. Top up in the currency that keeps conversion costs lowest; Wise bank transfer was quoted at -3.13% against +3.94% for cards in our source data.
Step 3 — Inspect against the listing
When the item is checked in, review the three free QC photos. If a detail matters — stitching, hardware, sole pattern, print placement, printed size labels, measurements — order detailed photos, a product video or a full inspection as a paid extra. This is the point to file an exchange or return while the item is still inside the warehouse.
Step 4 — Store, then consolidate
Free storage runs 90 days, so you can wait for a second order before shipping. Combine everything you are keeping into one parcel; consolidation reduces per-item freight because you pay one base charge instead of several.
Step 5 — Choose packing, then compare lines
Decide on box removal, compression, moisture protection or reinforcement first. Then use the shipping calculator to compare lines for your destination and chargeable weight. Shipping is collected as a deposit on estimated weight and reconciled after the parcel is weighed, so budget a small buffer.
Frequently asked
Does Superbuy charge a purchasing service fee?
Not on Taobao, Tmall, JD.com or 1688. Secondhand platforms such as Xianyu are charged a flat CN¥20 per order, and other secondhand or unlisted sources carry 10% with minimum and maximum caps. Payment channel fees are separate from the purchasing fee.
What can I check in the warehouse before shipping?
Three free QC photos per item as standard. Paid extras include detailed photography, product video, model try-on photos, a second inspection, a full detailed inspection, measurements and power-on testing for electronics — the practical way to confirm a listing's specifications.
How is shipping charged?
Shipping is collected as a deposit based on estimated weight, the line you select and your destination. After packing, the parcel is weighed and any difference is settled. Choose packing options such as box removal first, then compare lines, since volume changes the quote.
