Editorial policy

Every product feature on this site is based on a parcel we ordered and opened. We do not write selection notes from listing photos alone, and we do not publish a specification check without the item in hand.

Scoring

All scores use a five-point scale: 5 / 5 excellent, 4 / 5 good, 3 / 5 adequate, 2 / 5 poor, 1 / 5 very poor. Hands-on scores fall between 4.0 and 5.0. Scores are set by the editor who ran the intake, then reviewed by a second editor before publication. Scores reflect specification accuracy, build quality, packaging survival and agent handling speed, weighted by what matters for that product category.

What we will not do

  • We do not accept payment for a score, a placement in a comparison table, or a rewritten conclusion.
  • We do not publish a review of a product we have not opened on the bench.
  • We do not reuse a score from an earlier cycle without repeating the intake routine.
  • We do not remove a dated correction note once it is published.

Authorship

Every article carries a named editor. Author pages on this site list the credentials we hold and the work each editor does on the bench. Those pages are the only profile links we publish.

Updates

Active picks are retested every 90 days. When a listing changes, we say so at the top of the review with the date of the change.
