How we test

Our testing routine is the same for every featured product, and a full cycle takes between nine and sixteen days depending on the category.

  • Order and timing log. We place the order through a shopping agent and record four timestamps: order placed, agent purchase, warehouse check-in, and dispatch. These become the agent timing table in the review.
  • Parcel intake. The parcel is photographed unopened, weighed on a calibrated scale accurate to 1 g, and opened on the bench. We note outer packaging type, inner protection, compression and any crush damage.
  • Specification cross-check. We compare every row of the listing's specification table against the item: stated weight, measured weight, stated dimensions, measured dimensions, stated material composition, and the care label.
  • Fit and build checks. Garments get flat-bench measurements at chest, shoulder, sleeve and length, plus a stitch-density count at two seams and a wash test. Footwear gets insole length, last shape and heel counter pressure. Accessories are measured against stated dimensions.
  • Use cycle. Each item is used for at least seven days in normal conditions. Anything with a battery or motor is charged and run to depletion twice.
  • Scoring and comparison table. The intake editor proposes a score on the five-point scale, a second editor reviews the notes and photographs, and the agreed score is published as X / 5 alongside the measured numbers so readers can see what drove it.

Scores run from 4.0 to 5.0 for products we have ordered and tested. The 90-day retest calendar applies to every active pick.
